Wedding Procedures...
Suggested Reception Procedure on Arrival
- Red carpet to welcome the Bride and Groom.
- A reviver aperitif before photographs around the cake.
- Guests arrive to be welcomed by the official receiving line:
(Bride's mother, Bride's father, Bridegroom's mother, Bridegroom's father, Bride, Bridegroom, Bridesmaids, Best Man).
Refreshments offered.
- Guests are invited to take their places at the table, followed by the top table guests. Finally the guests receive the Bride and Groom.
- Grace may be said before the meal is served.
After the Meal
Prior to coffee
- The toast wine is served.
- The Best Man will rise and ask the Bride and Groom to cut the cake.
- Best Man asks the Bride's Father to propose a toast to the Bride and Groom and their future happiness.
- Best Man then calls upon the Groom to make a speech on behalf of his wife and himself, finishing with a toast to the bridesmaids.
- Best Man then answers on behalf of the Bridesmaids and will then continue with his speech.
- Should there be any further speeches, the Best Man then introduces each person.
- The Best Man then reads any cards and telegrams of good wishes.
- Music commences.
- Bride and Groom circulate amongst the guests and take the lead in dancing.
